Industry executives join South Shore Clean Cities' board of directors

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Officials at South Shore Clean Cities Inc., a nonprofit organization sponsored through a U.S. Department of Energy program, announced that John Johnson and Glenn Linhart have joined its board of directors.
"We are very pleased to welcome John and Glenn to our board," said Carl Lisek, executive director of South Shore Clean Cities and vice president at Purdue Research Park-based Legacy Environmental Services Inc. "Their wealth of knowledge and commitment to Clean Cities will make them great assets to our coalition."
The mission of South Shore Clean Cities is to promote the use of clean vehicle technologies and clean fuels. It reduced greenhouse gas emissions in northern Indiana by 63,562 tons and petroleum use by 10,558,552 gallons in 2013.
Johnson is manager of alternative fuel solutions at Indianapolis-based Stoops Freightliner where he designs and develops alternative fuel propulsion programs for fleet owners, city and county governments, school districts and more.
"I am very excited to be joining the South Shore Clean Cities board," Johnson said. "Carl and his staff have been a huge asset to Stoops Freightliner and we are proud to work with them."
Linhart is Northern Indiana sales manager at Indianapolis-based Best Equipment Co., where he researches, develops and specifies municipal equipment for public services and contractors.
"Working with South Shore Clean Cities has aided us in developing extensive clean air programs for communities in northern Indiana," Linhart said. "I'm honored to serve on its board."
