Appointments, honors and activities

Alumni honors:

- Purdue's School of Engineering Education presented its 2015 Outstanding Alumni Award to Henry A. "Hank" Frissora, M.D. Frissora received his interdisciplinary engineering degree in 1979 with a plan of study in biomedical engineering and graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1983. He is a general and vascular surgeon with Beverly Hospital, a member of Lahey Health. Interdisciplinary engineering was an independent division prior to becoming part of Engineering Education in 2004.

Student honors:

- Purdue's School of Engineering Education honored five students in multidisciplinary engineering and interdisciplinary engineering studies. Francis Blubaugh (acoustical engineering) and Rebecca L. Kartheiser (entertainment engineering) received the Outstanding Senior Award. Sonja C. Adams (acoustical engineering) and Paul A. Hickner (acoustical engineering) are the Outstanding Junior Award winners. The Outstanding Service Award was presented to Schuyler R. Putt (acoustical engineering). It recognizes his work as president of the Purdue chapter of the Acoustical Society of America and his role as co-founder, performer and audio engineer for the OfficialENGR YouTube channel.

- The Purdue University Flight Team qualified for the national Safety Conference competition after placing third in the Region Eight flight meet last fall.
