Purdue sets seminars for ag business professionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Agribusiness professionals can fine-tune their decision-making and agrimarketing skills, as well as expand their professional network, in two seminars offered this fall by the Purdue University Center for Food and Agricultural Business.
Both seminars will be held on Purdue's campus in West Lafayette. Continuing education credits are available for both sessions.
The seminars are:
* Structuring Decisions: Innovating Through Turbulence: Sept. 16- 18.
The seminar is designed for agribusiness leaders who are pursuing growth and investment possibilities, investigating new markets, developing product launch strategies, analyzing research and technological developments and leading or implementing growth or change initiatives.
Participants will learn the framework for decision-making, tools for effective decision-making and how to implement decisions.
Presenters are Mark St. Clair, general manager, Ohio Valley Region, CGB Enterprises; Fred Morscheck, general manager of marketing and logistics, The McGregor Co.; Michael Boehlje, Purdue distinguished professor of agricultural economics; Allan Gray, director of the Purdue Center for the Food and Agribusiness; and Nicole Olynk Widmar, Purdue associate professor of agricultural economics.

* Executive Agrimarketing: Oct. 13-15.
This seminar is designed for managers with marketing responsibilities. Topics include best practices, segmentation, developing value proposition, marketing decision tools and putting ideas to work.
Presenters include Justin Funk, managing partner at Agri Studies Inc. and national chairman of the Canadian Agri-Marketing Association, and Scott Downey, Purdue associate professor of agricultural economics.
