August 6, 2014

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - On Wednesday (Aug. 6) Loretta Rush was named chief justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. Rush, a Purdue University alumna, was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2012 by then-Gov. Mitch Daniels, who now serves as Purdue's president.

Daniels made the following statement regarding Rush's appointment:

“With four stellar candidates to consider, the committee could not have gone wrong, but they also could not have done better. Every Hoosier has reason to celebrate this outstanding choice; I know I am.”
