Out at Work Conference scheduled for Feb. 22 at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Frito-Lay executive Patrick McLaughlin will give the keynote speech at the fifth annual Out at Work Conference Feb. 22 at Purdue.
The conference is presented by Krannert OutSource, a student organization for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning community and its allies, with support from Purdue's LGBTQ Center, Purdue Center for Career Opportunities and Krannert Professional Development Center.
McLaughlin, who received bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue, is chief human resources officer and senior vice president at Frito-Lay North America.
He is a 17-year veteran of PepsiCo, Frito-Lay's parent company, with a broad range of leadership experience in beverages and foods. Before joining PepsiCo, McLaughlin was with Exxon USA, working in organizational development, labor and human resources roles.
During his speech, scheduled for 10:30 a.m., McLaughlin will share personal challenges he has encountered, lessons he has learned and opportunities he has pursued.
McLaughlin also will participate in a 12:30 p.m. panel discussion with other industry professionals on best practices for personal branding and professionalism by those who are LGBTQ.
At 3 p.m., Purdue students will be able to network and explore career options with McLaughlin and others.
All events will be in Lawson Computer Science Building.
