Purdue Musical Organizations to present 80th-anniversary Purdue Christmas Show

Santa Claus is coming to the Elliott Hall of Music on Dec. 7 and 8 during four public performances of the 80th anniversary Purdue Christmas Show.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Musical Organizations will present four public performances of the 80th-anniversary Purdue Christmas Show on Dec. 7 and 8.

"This year's production has been designed to take our audience on a journey through time," said William Griffel, director of Purdue Musical Organizations. "We invite you to join us as we visit our show from its earliest beginnings back in 1933 all the way to present day."

Performances are scheduled for noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 8 in Purdue's Elliott Hall of Music. Tickets are $20 for students ages 13 through college; $26 for adults; $24 for seniors age 65 and older; and $12 for children age 12 and under. More than 280 campus and community performers will be featured in the show, including members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, Purdue Bells, University Choir, Heart & Soul, All Campus & Community Chorale and the PMO Kids Choir, which includes 23 area children.

In addition to the Purdue Christmas Show, the annual "Dickens of a Christmas" celebration, which turns downtown Lafayette into a Victorian village, and the Lafayette-West Lafayette Christmas Parade will be presented on Dec. 7 and 8, respectively.
