Fraternity placed on probation

December 2, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University officials announced Monday (Dec. 2) that the Beta Sigma Psi fraternity has been placed on probation.

The sanction stems from a September registered function during which the fraternity made alcohol available to minors, said Jeffery Stefancic, associate dean of students. The probation, which will be in effect through May 11, was levied following an investigation by the Office of the Dean of Students.

In order to return to good standing, the fraternity is restricted from serving alcohol at any functions during the probation. Members must complete alcohol-education programs and other university-assigned educational sanctions.
