Vehicles vandalized along Tower Drive

April 18, 2013

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue University Police Department is reminding the campus community to be vigilant after several vehicles were vandalized last weekend along Tower Drive.

According to police reports, six vehicles parked on Tower Drive were vandalized sometime between 3:30 p.m. Saturday (April 13) and 11:30 a.m. Sunday (April 14). In all the incidents, the vehicles' passenger-side mirrors were broken off. In one case, in addition to the mirror, the car's molding and passenger door were scratched.

"In total, these vehicles easily sustained more than $1,000 in damage," said Purdue police Lt. Fred Davis. "Whoever is responsible might mistakenly think of this as harmless vandalism, but it's something we take very seriously."

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call the Purdue Police Department at 765-494-8221 or its anonymous tip line at 765-496-3784. The WeTip anonymous hotline, which is used by all Greater Lafayette law enforcement agencies, also is available at 1-800-78CRIME (1-800-782-7463).
