Michael Boesch

Michael Boesch (Purdue Police Department): When 100 international students spent a day working to clear debris in tornado-ravaged southern Indiana, Purdue Police Officer Mike Boesch volunteered to escort the group and serve as liaison to law enforcement in the area. His skills and calm were invaluable to the effort particularly in getting the volunteers to worksites and coordinating with the relief agencies on the ground. When he wasn't providing that leadership, he went out into fields and worked alongside the students sorting and hauling debris. Much was accomplished that day, much more than would have been accomplished without Officer Boesch. -- Mike Piggott (Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs)
