Mark Stinnette

Mark Stinnette (Human Development and Family Studies): The day before the Honoring Women Veterans Conference, I received a call from our keynote speaker, who had arrived to the Louisville airport. The VA partner flying to meeting her was stranded on the East Coast because she missed her flight. She needed to catch a later flight, which would delay her arrival to Louisville and subsequently, delay our keynote speaker from being able to arrive to Evansville before 2 a.m. She would miss our welcome dinner and have a potentially dangerous situation driving that late into the evening/early morning. Mark was planning to travel from New Albany to attend our conference. I called him to see if by chance he would be willing to go to the Louisville airport to pick up our guest at midnight and bring her to Evansville. Mark was more than happy to help us. He truly saved the day. Beyond saving our conference, Mark has done tremendous work in Evansville growing our Tri-State Military Resource Network. He’s doing great work, and we are fortunate to have him and MFRI in our region. -- Cherie Leonhardt with Honoring Women Veterans Conference
