Editor's note: Since 2010, Purdue Today has invited faculty and staff to recognize the good work of others on campus through its weekly "Thumbs Up" feature. The newsletter periodically will publish an expanded version of this popular feature in an effort to further call attention to employees' excellent work.
Patrick Edwards, assistant director of operations and facilities manager in the Division of Recreational Sports, recognizes Luke Versprille, associate director of facilities and operations, for his dedication to the student employees and facility projects at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center.
Edwards writes:
Luke has always had a special connection with the student employees at the Recreational Sports Center. He has the impressive ability to create a place where students understand that they are becoming better global citizens through the work they are performing at our facility. Moreover, during the past eight months, Luke has done this while also taking on multiple facility projects as we enhance the member services area.
Luke has created a culture of excellence with the staff, all the while ensuring that our facility operations run smoothly. It's been remarkable how well he has juggled both of these jobs while maintaining such a great attitude.
Luke's love for Purdue and his pursuit of excellence in all aspects of his job are impressive and things to be emulated.
