Editor's note: Since 2010, Purdue Today has invited faculty and staff to recognize the good work of others on campus through its weekly "Thumbs Up" feature. This semester, the newsletter periodically will publish an expanded version of this popular feature in an effort to further call attention to employees' excellent work.

Loribeth Hettinger, manager of the Purdue ID Card Office, recognizes Ken Jacobs, project manager in Physical Facilities, for his great work helping the office move from Purdue Memorial Union to Hovde Hall. The ID Card Office began its move on Oct. 6 and reopened in Room 5 of Hovde on Oct. 13.

Hettinger writes:

"We could not have asked for a better project manager than Ken. He coordinated multiple teams to handle our new space's carpentry, electronics and telecommunications, and he also coordinated the General Labor Crew, the moving company and in-house design. We were able to quickly and efficiently make changes to the cashiering area of the Bursar’s Office so we could share the space.

"Ken kept in close contact with us from the beginning of the project until the end, making sure our new shared home was functional and user friendly for both the Bursar’s Office as well as the Purdue ID Card Office.

"Thanks to Ken, we made a plan and were able to keep on time, on task and on budget. Fantastic job all around -- we really appreciated Ken’s leadership."
