Editor's note: Since 2010, Purdue Today has invited faculty and staff to recognize the good work of others on campus through its weekly "Thumbs Up" feature. This semester, the newsletter periodically will publish an expanded version of this popular feature in an effort to further call attention to employees' excellent work.
Linda Swihart recognizes Jon Biggs, technical training specialist in Workplace Learning and Development in Physical Facilities, for the safety training sessions he presents to Purdue staff.
Swihart, who is an industrial hygienist and laboratory safety manager in Radiological and Environmental Management, writes:
"Jon 's presentations are consistently excellent, educational and entertaining. He speaks well, enthusiastically and modestly from a wealth of experience in Physical Facilities and the types of work to which the safety lessons apply, including electrical safety, ladder safety, personal protection equipment and more. He relates very well to the audience, and they can tell he respects them. He uses great examples and puts together very good visual presentations. We are lucky to have him."
