Jim Schenke (Marketing and Media): Jim Schenke worked diligently through the Thanksgiving weekend to get publicity on what probably should have been only a local Lafayette feature story about an errant student-launched weather balloon. However, Jim was able to make it an international story appearing in top newspapers around the world, including newspapers in Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Houston, Philadelphia and Miami. With help from Ed Dunn's Purdue studio crew, Jim was also able to secure placement on the Weather Channel, ABC News, and scores of CBS affiliates. The story was covered by nearly every media outlet in Indiana.
