Michele Summers

Michele Summers (Statewide Technology): Michele Summers started the College of Technology at Lafayette program several years ago, and since it has become the statewide location with the largest enrollments. She single-handedly built the location, worked with industrial partners, created a student ambassadors program for location students, and has taken three student groups for study abroad. The study abroad is an accomplishment in itself as she did what many would think may be unheard of: She has successfully taken groups of nontraditional working adults/students on study abroad trips. She created an advisory board and has consistently worked with industrial partners in furthering employee education. With all her accomplishments, Michele's biggest contribution is the personal relationships she has developed with her students; she is the driving force encouraging them along their journey. Michelle Summers is the heart of the COT Lafayette location and for that she deserves a "Thumbs Up." --  Beverly J. Davis (Statewide Technology)
