Butler Center to host Faculty Recognition Reception

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence will host an end-of-the-semester virtual Faculty Recognition Reception at 3:30-5 p.m. April 27. The live reception is for faculty to connect and unwind at the end of a particularly challenging semester and also will serve as a time to recognize grant recipients.

The recipients of the 2020 and 2021 annual Research Project Grants, funded jointly by the Butler Center and the Ketan and Tanuja Sheth Family Endowment and the Meghana and Vinayak Ranade Endowment, will be recognized. Aimed at furthering the mission of the Butler Center, this grant supports the work of an individual (or individuals) interested in advancing inclusion and faculty success broadly.

The Enabling Inclusion grant recipients also will be recognized at the reception. The Enabling Inclusion at Purdue grant was a special award created following Provost Jay Akridge’s June 2020 message about “the work that remains” for campus to do to create a better Purdue and a better world. This call sought project proposals to further the Butler Center’s goals to foster a climate of inclusion for faculty, particularly for women and underrepresented minorities.

Akridge will present awards for each of the grants. The reception is open to all. Registration is required. For more information, contact the Butler Center at ButlerCenter@purdue.edu.
