Accomplished Clerical Excellence program accepting applications

The Accomplished Clerical Excellence program is accepting applications until July 12 for those interested in enhancing clerical knowledge, skills and abilities.

ACE is available only to clerical staff members who have at least one consecutive year of Purdue service and have been in their current position at least six months. Each year a new class of participants begins their first semester together. Classes meet for two hours each week starting in September.

The ACE program is a two-year training program for benefits-eligible clerical staff on the Purdue West Lafayette campus. The participants meet weekly with content experts from the University staff to strengthen skills in communication, personal and career development, and clerical and technological skill areas. This program is designed to provide continued education in job-related areas, provide opportunities to sharpen and/or develop new skills, and prepare participants to accept greater responsibilities. ACE creates an environment where participants can exchange experiences and knowledge.

This September will begin the program's 41st class. More than 850 staff members have participated in the program.

Applications can be found online. A mailing about the program recently went to all clerical employees on the West Lafayette campus.

Questions about the program or application should be directed to Carrie Hanson in Human Resources at 765-494-7397 or carrie@purdue.edu.
