Faculty, staff and students are invited to take part in Purdue's Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Monday (Jan. 15).

Day of Service volunteers will honor King's legacy by helping local nonprofit agencies focused on economic development, education, and the environment. The event is sponsored by the Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office in partnership with the Black Cultural Center.

Volunteers will meet at 8:15 a.m. at the Córdova Recreational Sports Center's Gold & Black Gyms, where a continental breakfast will be available. Service throughout Greater Lafayette will last through 1 p.m.

To register as an individual, volunteers should fill out the registration form. Those who would like to register as a group should email bvn@purdue.edu. Faculty and staff are encouraged to bring their partners and spouses to participate. Registration forms must be filled out for all participants.

The deadline to register is 11:30 p.m. Friday (Jan. 12).
