About 360 Purdue volunteers honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by helping local community agencies during the MLK Day of Service on Monday (Jan. 15). Volunteers spent time with community service agencies in Tippecanoe County, including those that work with animals, children, seniors, health care and people experiencing homelessness. The event was coordinated by Purdue's Civic Engagement & Leadership Development Office in partnership with the Black Cultural Center as part of the MLK Committee. A photo gallery of the day's activities is here.

Purdue will continue its 2018 MLK celebration with the keynote presentation by Justice Robert Rucker, the 105th appointee to the Indiana Supreme Court and before that a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals, at 6:30 p.m. today (Jan. 16) in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.

More on the address and other celebration activities is available here.
