Boiler Success Team to host Campus Conversations on Tuesday

The Boiler Success Team will host a Campus Conversations event from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday (March 27) in Stewart Center, Room 302.

The event is a chance to learn from different campus partners about updates on issues related to undergraduate student success.

Six presenters will provide five-minute updates to participants. Those attending can then pick two 15-minute time blocks to engage further with two of the topics. These 15-minute sessions will be more interactive, potentially allowing for audience Q&A as well as feedback and input to the presenters.

The presenters will be:

* Kristina Wong Davis, vice provost for enrollment management, discussing challenges related to growing undergraduate student enrollment.

* Katie Sermersheim, dean of students, and colleagues from the Office of the Dean of Students discussing student mental health.

* Ed Berger, associate professor of engineering education and mechanical engineering, discussing the student success-related initiatives sponsored by the Mechanical Engineering Education Research Center at Purdue.

* Amy Childress, director of undergraduate research, discussing initiatives and opportunities for faculty who want to involve undergraduates in their research activities.

* Michael Shettle, director of administration for University Residences, discussing how University Residences is planning to address continued increases in the number of students choosing to live on campus.

* Jenna Rickus, associate vice provost for teaching and learning, discussing the next phases of BoilerConnect implementation, which could include predictive analytics, success markers and faculty progress reports.
