Office of the Provost and Discovery Park expand remaining data science forums

To accommodate the high level of interest and demand for Purdue's new data science initiative, the Office of the Provost and Discovery Park have made additional space available for the remaining data science forums and opened them up to all interested faculty and staff.

Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, Discovery Park’s chief scientist and executive director, and Jenna Rickus, associate vice provost for teaching and learning, will lead the campus conversations.

The forums are an open, inclusive discussion, which will position the University to:

* Prepare its students to engage fully in a data-driven world.

* Empower faculty by creating a research ecosystem that supports the data science needs and interests of faculty across campus.

* Engage with partners in areas of scholarly focus where Purdue brings unique strength.

* Transform the state by realizing the potential of data science for economic development.

Discovery Park and the Office of the Provost ask that interested participants still register to attend so that they can be placed effectively into the appropriate working group in advance of the forum. The remaining dates and locations for the data science forums are:

Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Stewart Center, Room 310.

Thursday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at Stewart Center, Room 218.
