Faculty-staff informational meeting planned on Injectable Biologics Program Area

An informational session will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 3) to summarize the current status and solicit research ideas that could contribute to the Purdue University/Eli Lilly research collaboration in the Injectable Biologics Program Area.

Members of the current team will be available to present and answer questions. The meeting, to which faculty and staff are invited, will be in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship, Room 121.

The existing team has carried out a six-month planning process to identify four major work streams that intended to address the challenge over the next five years.

For the purposes of this discussion, the “biologics” are monoclonal antibodies for treatment of cancer, immune deficiencies, and other medical conditions. The challenge is the ability to inject, subcutaneously, small volumes of high-concentration proteins so that patients and their doctors may administer biotherapeutics easily, with minimal pain and maximal efficacy.

This informational meeting will explain background and process for engaging the Purdue University community. For any questions, contact Kaethe Beck at kaethe@purdue.edu or 765-494-6223.
