Letters sent to employee homes regarding beneficiary records in Benefitfocus

Human Resources would like to inform employees that letters are being mailed today (July 3) to their homes regarding the need to record their life insurance beneficiaries as part of the upcoming implementation of Benefitfocus. The new benefits enrollment and management system will debut on Wednesday (July 5).

Instructions on how to log into Benefitfocus to complete the beneficiary recording process are included with the letters. Once logged into the system to designate beneficiaries, employees are encouraged to get acquainted with the new system by reviewing their benefits and covered dependents.

Letters were also recently mailed to employee homes who are affected by vendor changes for three voluntary benefit plans -- Critical Illness, Accident Insurance and Universal Life -- and how those changes affect current participants.

As of Thursday, Benefitfocus will be used for:

* Life events (change in family status).

* Adjusting HSA contributions.

* New hire enrollments.

* Reviewing personal benefit summaries.

* Updating life insurance beneficiaries.
