Growing Leaders founder Tim Elmore to speak Sept. 19

Tim Elmore, founder and president of Growing Leaders, will speak Sept. 19 at Purdue. The event is titled "Developing Grit and Grace For Life."

In this interactive event, Elmore will discuss practical ways for taking on real-life challenges and opportunities faced on campus and using them to prepare for life beyond the classroom. He also will answer questions about making a difference in the world.

The speech will take place at 7-8 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse. The event is open to the public. Free tickets are available at https://purduepresents-drtimelmore.eventbrite.com until Sept. 13 or space fills.

Elmore is the author of more than 30 books. He educates adults to help them understand the challenges and experiences today’s generation faces and connect with them in a way that resonates. Elmore teaches leadership courses and speaks at schools, universities, businesses and athletic programs. He has trained thousands of leaders in partnership with nationally renowned schools and organizations like the San Francisco Giants, Stanford University, Chick-fil-A, Delta and more. Elmore’s organization, Growing Leaders, cultivates leadership abilities in young adults and encourages the adults who guide them.

The event is sponsored by the College of Engineering, College of Agriculture, College of Health and Human Sciences, Krannert School of Management, Environmental and Ecological Engineering, John R. Wooden Leadership Institute, Honors College, University Residences, Purdue Academic Advising Association, Office of the Provost, Office of Admissions, and Purdue Dining & Catering.
