Internal applicants sought for associate vice president for research (regulatory affairs) position

An internal search to fill the position of associate vice president for research (regulatory affairs) has been launched by the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships. A position description can be accessed at this link.  Applications will be accepted until June 5 with plans to fill the position by the end of summer.

Howie Zelaznik, professor of health and kinesiology and associate vice president for research, has administered the regulatory affairs for Purdue for the last five years. He will be stepping down from the administrative position and returning to full-time faculty status in August of this year.

“Dr. Zelaznik has served faculty, staff and students across Purdue with dedication and diligence,” says Suresh Garimella, executive vice president for research and partnerships and Purdue's Goodson Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering. “He has overseen several successful audits and accreditations of our programs, further consolidated the centralized laboratory animal program, and implemented an online submission process for human subject protocols to the IRB.  We are grateful to Howie for his service to Purdue.”
