2017-18 enforcement of C or C-garage parking permit eligibility boundaries

As a result of collaboration with the City of West Lafayette and City of Lafayette, Purdue Parking Facilities will begin enforcing the boundaries for those wishing to purchase a C or C-garage parking permit for commuters, effective for the 2017-18 academic year.

In order to qualify for a C or C-garage parking permit, including the Grant Street Parking Garage or Harrison Street Parking Garage, students must live outside of a one-and-a-half mile radius of campus as defined by the following approximate boundaries:

* North of Cherry Lane and Hillcrest Road in West Lafayette; Greenbush Street in Lafayette.

* East of North Ninth Street in Lafayette.

* South of Kossuth Street/Walnut Street in Lafayette; South River Road/U.S. 231 South in West Lafayette.

* West of U.S. 231 in West Lafayette.

A map of all C and C-garage parking permit boundaries is available on the Purdue University Parking website. Permits for 2017-18 may be obtained later this summer by those who are eligible, and additional information will be communicated closer to that time.

Previously, the eastern boundary was not enforced, and individuals living east of the Wabash River and west of North Ninth Street in Lafayette were eligible to purchase the aforementioned parking permits. With the enforcement of the boundaries for 2017-18, these individuals and others who live within the defined boundaries will no longer be eligible for a C or C-garage parking permit. Alternate transportation options for getting to and from campus within the boundaries include CityBus, the Zagster bike share program or ZipCar.
