Non-tenure track faculty COACHE responses to be discussed at town hall

The Office of the Provost will host a town hall meeting 4-5 p.m. April 5 in Stewart Center, Room 279, to discuss findings from the COACHE survey completed by non-tenure track faculty.

"In response to the 2015 survey, our tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty expressed their views on a range of work-life issues. We had a very productive discussion of the survey results from the tenure-track faculty surveys in November,” says Peter Hollenbeck, vice provost for faculty affairs. “We look forward to having an equally insightful conversation about the non-tenure track faculty results.”

The town hall, which is for faculty only, will be moderated by Jessica Huber, professor in speech, language, and hearing sciences, and interim associate vice provost for faculty affairs. “While the results from the tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty were comparable in many ways, we would like to discuss some of the particular issues faced by non-tenure track faculty at Purdue,” Huber says.

Non-tenure track faculty are encouraged to join the discussion to help develop future Purdue programs and initiatives. Refreshments will be served.

Purdue first participated in the COACHE faculty work-life survey in 2012, which led to several positive outcomes. In January 2015, faculty participated in the second COACHE survey with a 54 percent response rate.
