Nominations sought for Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year

Faculty and staff are invited to nominate a graduating senior for the Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award. The deadline has been extended to March 17.

The Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award is presented each spring to honor a graduating Purdue undergraduate international student who has helped the University welcome and connect people of all cultures.

Faculty, academic advisors and other departmental staff are invited to nominate students who best fulfill the following requirements:

* Graduating senior who has attained a minimum of a 3.0 graduation index.  A “graduating senior” is an undergraduate international student graduating in December 2016, May 2017 or August 2017.

* Scholarship (minimum 3.0 GPA and academic achievement/recognition in other areas such as research, publications, presentations, etc.).

* Leadership (demonstrated at Purdue through departmental/student organization affiliation or employment).

* Service (welcomes and connects people of all cultures, both on campus and in our community).

* Outstanding character.

A completed nomination form and all accompanying letters of support should be sent to Beth Tucker, YONG 120, no later than March 17. The awardee will receive a certificate and a $2,000 award from the Jischke Endowment, and will be honored at the Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research Awards Reception on April 18.
