Nominations sought for intercultural award

Purdue's Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research is calling for nominations for its new CILMAR Vision award.

CILMAR envisions a campus where intercultural adeptness is as much a part of the Boilermaker identity as is scientific and technical virtuosity. CILMAR Vision awards will be presented to recognize faculty and staff who are fulfilling the center's mission and vision. Two awards will be given:

* One to recognize faculty and staff who embed intercultural learning, mentorship, or assessment for students studying abroad.

* One to recognize faculty and staff who embed intercultural learning, mentorship and assessment into a course of study or program on the Purdue campus.

Nominators should submit the following to cilmar@purdue.edu before the application deadline of April 1:

* A letter of narrative explaining why the nominee should be selected, emphasizing connections with CILMAR’s vision and mission (no more than one page).

* Brief email of endorsement from the applicant’s head of department/school or supervisor.

Self-nomination is allowed and welcomed.

The award will be presented at the CILMAR opening gala on April 18 in the Purdue Memorial Union's South Ballroom. For more information, contact Mike Brzezinski at 765-494-9399 or brzezinski@purdue.edu, or Kris Acheson-Clair at 765-494-9399 or krisac@purdue.edu.
