Free webcasts from Fidelity to cover debt, Social Security

Purdue's retirement partner, Fidelity, is offering webcasts to present practical tips to help employees live well financially, today and tomorrow. All webcasts are free, and employees do not need to have a Fidelity account to participate.

“Debt: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday (March 29) and repeated from 3 to 4 p.m. Thursday (March 30). The webcast will be presented by Jean Chatzky, award-winning personal finance journalist and best-selling author.

From paying for education to owning a home or car, attendees will learn how debt plays a role in the total financial picture. Topics covered will include the six things everyone should know about debt; the top five questions about credit cards, student loans and mortgages; and smart ways to use debt to build investments.

Register online for either session. For those who are interested but cannot watch at either time,
employees can still register for the replay and watch it at a more convenient time.

“Social Security: Your Questions Answered” will be offered from 1 to 2 p.m. April 4 as well as from 1 to 2 p.m. April 6.

Attendees will learn how to maximize Social Security benefits to get the most possible out of the program. The webcast will explore the importance of Social Security in the retirement plan, the steps needed to maximize the claiming strategy and how to plan for retirement income.

Register online. Again, for those who cannot watch at either of these times, a replay will be offered.
