CERIAS to hold 18th annual Information Security Symposium on April 18-19

Purdue's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security will hold its 18th annual Information Security Symposium on April 18-19.

Researchers, practitioners and program managers from academia, government and commercial industry will examine emerging research in information assurance, cyber-physical security, resiliency, privacy and cybercrime. Keynotes, technical talks, panel discussions, technology demonstrations and more will highlight the event, which is open to the public.

The featured speakers will be:

* Gen. Greg Touhill (USAF Retired), former U.S. chief information security officer.

* David Meltzer, chief technology officer at Tripwire.

* Ron Ross, Fellow at the National Institute for Standards and Technology.

The symposium also will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Purdue’s COAST laboratory, the predecessor of CERIAS, and highlight what has changed and what has stayed the same in the cyber landscape over the last 25 years.

In addition, there will be a pre-conference networking event the evening of April 17 focused on women in information security featuring remarks by Wafaa Mamilli, vice president and chief information security officer at Eli Lilly. Symposium registration is not required for this event, and all interested students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend.

Most events will take place in Stewart Center, Room 302. The agenda and registration information are available online. Cost for faculty, staff and students is $32. CERIAS-affiliated faculty, staff and students can register at no charge through April 10. After April 10, the standard academic price of $32 will apply.
