Asante Children’s Theatre of Indianapolis to perform at Black Cultural Center

The Asante Children’s Theatre of Indianapolis will present its original production "Culture Club," featuring dance, poetry, spoken word and song, at 7 p.m. today (March 3) at the Black Cultural Center.

Artists from the BCC will also perform at the event, which is free and open to the public.

The Asante Children’s Theatre of Indianapolis is a youth development organization committed to enriching the lives of young people so they become empowered citizens of the world. ACT celebrates the unique traditions of African and African American performing arts, resulting in empowered youth, well-rounded citizens, enriched family lives, strengthened family bonds and a more vibrant community.

In addition to performing, the middle and high schoolers will spend the afternoon at Purdue experiencing campus life through tours and cultural activities. The visit is being organized by the Black Cultural Center and the College of Liberal Arts.
