Upcoming workshop to bring stress, work/life balance to the forefront

Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop focused on stress and work/life balance from noon to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 (Tuesday) in Stewart Center, Room 311.

The “Stress/Work Life Balance” program, led by Cheryl Laszynski, health coach at the Center for Healthy Living, will help participants understand how to recognize the source of stress, how bodies and minds react to stress and strategies for balancing work and home life demands.

“A majority of people in today’s world are affected by stress, either directly or indirectly,” Laszynski says. “Finding a good balance between work and home helps alleviate the physical and mental effects stress can have on our bodies, such as headaches, mental and physical exhaustion, pain, heart palpitations and more. During the workshop, I will share specific ways to help better control busy lives and the associated stress that might present itself.”

Those interested in attending need to register by Monday (Dec. 5). Limited seating is available to provide better interaction with Laszynski. WebEx is also available for this workshop; if prompted for a password, enter "familyfriendly" when joining the meeting.

The family workshops are open to faculty, staff, students and spouses/same-sex domestic partners. Those attending are encouraged to bring lunch to eat while listening to the presentation.
