Search committee formed to find new dean of the College of Engineering

Deba Dutta, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, has announced the start of a national search for the next dean of Purdue's College of Engineering.

"By any measure, Purdue's College of Engineering is one of the finest in the world. We consistently attract high-achieving students, prominent faculty and talented staff, and I am confident that we will see many outstanding and well-qualified candidates for the dean position," Dutta says. He encourages input and assistance from all faculty and staff to create a diverse pool from which candidates will be selected for campus visits.

Co-chairs R. Byron Pipes, the John L. Bray Distinguished Professor of Engineering, and Andrew M. Weiner, the Scifres Family Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will lead the search advisory committee listed below. Pipes and Weiner will provide details on the process and communication protocols for faculty and staff.

Leah Jamieson, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering and the Ransburg Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will complete her term and step down from her deanship effective July 1, 2017.
