Purdue United Way Campaign needs pledges soon to make goal

Purdue's 2016 United Way campaign is looking for a rush in participation to help it reach its goal of $770,134. Purdue campaign leaders hope to reach this year's goal by Wednesday (Nov. 16), but donations toward the 2016 campaign will be accepted through 4 p.m. Nov. 17. The campaign still needs $100,000 to reach its goal by the celebration event on Nov. 17.

"Purdue has always been the No. 1 employer group to contribute to the United Way of Greater Lafayette, but other employers in the area have expanded their giving, while Purdue's total has been flat in recent years. We want to make sure Purdue will remain No. 1 in its generosity," says Pam Horne, Purdue United Way chair and vice provost of enrollment management. "Everyone matters. Every dollar counts. I know our Purdue family can show our community what we can do!"

New this year is the incorporation of the ePledge system to streamline the campaign and make pledging more efficient, effective and user-friendly. As in years past, donors have the ability to donate an unrestricted gift to the United Way of Greater Lafayette or can choose a specific agency for their donations. Gifts can be made in various ways, including payroll deduction or a one-time donation. To make a gift via ePledge, visit www.purdue.edu/unitedway and click on the button "Purdue Employees – Pledge Now."
