Physical Facilities Grounds Department lines torch route with blue and gold annuals

The Physical Facilities Grounds Department has planted blue and gold annual flowers along the bicentennial torch relay route as part of a Bicentennial Legacy Project. Indiana state flags and the bicentennial logo will be displayed with the flowers during the torch relay.

Flower locations on the torch relay route are:

* The University sign at State and Grant streets, and State Street pots in the median of State between Sheetz Street and West Oval Drive.
* Oval Drive hanging baskets.
* Stanley Coulter Hall.
* Gateway to the Future arch at University Street and Stadium Avenue.
* Horticulture Park exit sign.
* University Street east of Lawson Computer Science Building.

Flower locations not on the torch route include:

* The adopt-a-spot at Northwestern and Stadium Avenues.
* Emerick corner across from Lambert Fieldhouse.
* Northwestern Avenue planters between Stadium Avenue and Grant Street.
* Academy Park hanging baskets.
* Union patio west of Purdue Memorial Union.
* The Purdue Alumni sign at Dauch Alumni Center.
* Pots located on the corner of Marsteller and Harrison streets.

The flowers will remain until the first frost. The torch relay will wind through the Purdue campus at 10:30 a.m. today (Oct. 12) starting at the intersection of Northwestern Avenue and Grant Street.
