Pandit Dasa, an internationally known speaker on well-being and practical use of meditation, will present the Lovell Leadership Series event in the form of a workshop titled "Principles of Mindful Leadership." 10 a.m. STEW, Fowler Hall. Details
OCTOBER 7-9
Sports weekend. It's "October break weekend" and the Boilermakers will seek to break serves and defenses.

The Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay will begin its Tippecanoe County leg about 8:30 a.m. and pass through the Purdue campus in late morning. Details
OCTOBER 14-15
Homecoming events will include some of the regular spirit events, some special events and at noon kickoff against Iowa. Details to be posted
OCTOBER 14
Well, "Ain't That a Kick in the Head" as the American Music Repertory Ensemble and Lab Jazz Band bounce from Peggy Lee to Count Basie to Dean Martin and others without leaving 1960. 8 p.m. STEW, Loeb Playhouse. Details

The Purdue Libraries Distinguished Lecture Series will present Michael Beschloss, an author, columnist and highly regarded historian of the U.S. presidency, talking about this year's election. 7 p.m. STEW, Fowler Hall.
OCTOBER 18-19
"Judgment at Nuremberg," one of those important dramas where knowing the outcome doesn't lessen the suspense, comes to Purdue for two shows by L.A. Theatre Works. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m. in STEW, Loeb Playhouse; the first has a pre-show drawing on faculty expertise about the trials. $. Tuesday | Wednesday
OCTOBER 22
Sullivan Fortner & Friends will join a rising New Orleans jazz piano star with three faves from the Indianapolis music scene. Fortner will give the first jazz performance on Purdue's Steinway D concert piano. 8 p.m. STEW, Loeb Playhouse. $. Details
