Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield provides incentive to complete open enrollment this week

As the second week of open enrollment for 2017 begins, Human Resources reminds employees to complete their enrollment as early as possible. As an incentive to complete the enrollment process this week, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Purdue's medical plan administrator, has donated a second Fitbit Flex that will be given away.

All employees who have completed their 2017 elections by midnight EST Friday (Nov. 4) will be entered to win a Fitbit Flex courtesy of Anthem. As a reminder, open enrollment ends at 6 p.m. EST Nov. 11, and no changes will be accepted after that time unless related to a qualifying life event (change in family status). Benefit selections made during open enrollment go into effect on Jan. 1.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to make early use of the resources provided from the HR-Benefits team to avoid the rush during the last week of enrollment. Watch in Purdue Today beginning Tuesday (Nov. 1) for updates on the dental recruiting.  Anthem has received several dentists who are working their way through the credentialing process to join Anthem's "Dental Complete" network. This information will be updated this week and then again for the final week of enrollment to help people evaluate their dental coverage options.

Sessions and labs available this week are:

* Today (Oct. 31): Open enrollment lab, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Room 1-5; live presentation, 10:30 a.m.-noon, Stewart Center, Room 310.

* Tuesday (Nov. 1): Open enrollment lab, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Room 1-5.

* Wednesday (Nov. 2): Open enrollment lab, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Room 1-5.

* Thursday (Nov. 3): Open enrollment lab, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Room 1-5; live presentation, 1:30-3 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Rooms 2-1 and 2-2.

* Friday (Nov. 4): Open enrollment lab, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Freehafer Hall, Room 1-5.
