Proposals sought for project on multidisciplinary solutions to global grand challenges

Proposals are being sought for the "Breaking Through: Multidisciplinary Solutions to Global Grand Challenges" project being funded by a recent Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant. Letters of intent are due Oct. 15.

This initiative supports a unique approach to research, scholarly publishing and communications on global grand challenges at Purdue. The approach catalyzes the involvement of humanists and social scientists alongside STEM faculty in grand challenges research, innovation and policy formation, while embedding publishing professionals, libraries faculty and policy experts in the scholarly communications process.

Information on eligibility, deliverables, review criteria, post-award reporting, and the submission process is provided here. Upcoming deadlines are:

* Letter of intent: Due Oct. 15.
* Final proposals: Due Nov. 4.
* Award notification: Nov. 30.
