Overview of new Purdue Success Collaborative set for Sept. 8

Purdue's West Lafayette campus is implementing a new technology platform called Purdue Success Collaborative as part of ongoing efforts to improve retention and graduation rates of undergraduate students. Faculty and staff are invited to an overview of the platform, which will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 8 in Stewart Center, Loeb Playhouse.

Purdue Success Collaborative will be a one-stop student success platform that combines predictive analytics with communication and workflow tools to help support, retain and graduate students, says Frank Dooley, vice provost for teaching and learning.

"When we asked advisors what would help them better serve students, they asked for greater access to information about their students and early alerts so they can find out about potential problems before they happen," Dooley says. "The Purdue Success Collaborative will give us that, all in one place, as well as the capability for better communication across units so students don’t get lost as we refer them to other campus partners. This platform will be a powerful tool for anyone who works with students."

For example, if an advisor recommends that a student visit Purdue's Center for Career Opportunities, the advisor could note the recommendation in the Purdue Success Collaborative system. CCO staff would then be notified about the recommendation and could reach out to the student as well, Dooley says.

The Purdue Success Collaborative platform is from the Educational Advisory Board, a provider of research, technology, and consulting services to colleges and universities nationwide. The implementation process for the Purdue Success Collaborative started in late July, and engagement teams are now being created to address areas such as workflow, success markers and technical configurations.
