Office of Future Engineers to mark anniversary with event

The Office of Future Engineers, the main recruitment division for Purdue Engineering undergraduate students, will celebrate its fifth anniversary with an event on Friday (Sept. 16).

Faculty and staff are invited to stop by the Office of Future Engineers Welcome Center from 2 to 4 p.m. in Neil Armstrong Hall, Room 1085. Remarks by Office of Future Engineers staff members will take place at 3 p.m., and refreshments will be served.

RSVPs are encouraged. Those planning to attend should email future-engineers@purdue.edu.

The Office of Future Engineers was previously part of Engineering Education and officially became an independent unit in December 2011. Since 2010, the office has been involved in an average of 350 events per year, meeting with nearly 30,000 people annually. Applications to the College of Engineering have increased from 9,500 in 2010 to over 19,000 for the Fall 2016 semester, and the number of students accepting their admission offers has increased from 1,700 to over 2,100 in the same five-year period.
