Daniels honored as Indiana Living Legend

The Indiana Historical Society recognized President Mitch Daniels as one of its 2016 Indiana Living Legends during the group's Indiana Living Legends Gala on Friday (July 22) in Indianapolis.

Each year, IHS recognizes extraordinary Hoosiers for their local, statewide and national accomplishments with the Indiana Living Legends honor. Honorees for 2016 are Daniels; Henry Leck, founding director of the Indianapolis Children's Choir; James Madison, Indiana historian and the Thomas and Kathryn Miller Professor Emeritus of History at Indiana University; Brian Payne, president and CEO of the Central Indiana Community Foundation; and Yvonne Shaheen, a board member and fundraising leader for numerous central Indiana arts, educational and other nonprofit organizations.
