Purdue ROTC graduates commissioned at ceremony

Forty-five Purdue ROTC graduates participated in the Tri-Service Commissioning Ceremony on Friday (May 13) in the Purdue Memorial Union South Ballroom.

Lt. Gen. John F. Thompson, commander of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, commissioned 18 second lieutenants from the Army ROTC, 16 ensigns from the Naval ROTC and 11 second lieutenants from the Air Force ROTC. President Mitch Daniels also gave remarks at the ceremony.

These new officers will immediately go on to train in their respective specialties in the U.S. military. There are currently 390 students involved in the Purdue ROTC program -- 125 students are enrolled in the Naval ROTC, 135 students are in the Army ROTC and 130 are enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program.
