Second round of 'Skills for Performance' training for all employees announced

Human Resources' Employee Training and Development is offering "Skills for Performance" training to all employees with supervisor approval. Some courses are specifically targeted to supervisors; however, all courses are open to all employees who are interested in attending. The courses -- focused on interpersonal and supervisory skills -- are designed with hands-on, interactive activities to help build performance skills. This is the second round of "Skills for Performance" training.

April, May and June classes are:

* Managing Relations with Your Former Peers

* Introduction to 5S

* Overcoming Team Dysfunctions – Introduction

* Active Listening

* Safety Leadership

* Leading through Change and Transition

* Project Management

* Visual Management "What Gets Measured, Gets Done!"

* Customer Service: Getting to Gold

Classes will be offered in the Physical Facilities Service Building (PFSB), Room 1179AB. The series begins with "Managing Relations with Your Former Peers," which takes place April 5.

The next round of course offerings will begin in July, and information will be shared closer to that time.

Each class is limited to 25 participants. To register, employees can click the links above or use the Employee Training and Development calendar and click the "Register" links on the right-hand side for each respective course.

Questions about the "Skills for Performance" training course series can be directed to Lisa Bittles, instructional design and training specialist, at 49-41359 or lmbittles@purdue.edu.
