Recycling drive for personal electronics set for Dec. 4-5

The Purdue Air and Waste Management Association will hold an e-waste recycling drive on Dec. 4-5.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to bring personal used or broken electronic items to the recycling drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Dec. 4-5) at the parking lot west of Schleman Hall.

Items that will be accepted at no charge include cellphones, laptops, computers, monitors, keyboards, computer mice, tablet computers and home phones. The following items will be accepted for a fee: televisions less than 32 inches, $10 or $30 if wood, particle board, incomplete or broken; televisions greater than 32 inches, $20 or $45 if wood, particle board, incomplete or broken; and microwaves, $10.

The recycling drive will not accept air conditioners, wine chillers, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers, light bulbs, light fixtures, light ballasts, alkaline batteries (nonrechargeable), and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Faculty, staff and students are reminded that Purdue-owned electronic equipment must be channeled through Purdue University Surplus for recycling. Purdue University Surplus may be contacted at 49-62222.
