Purdue officials, students, cheerleaders, the Boilermaker Special and Purdue Pete traveled to the Indianapolis area Friday (Oct. 23) to surprise two high school students with the news of their admission to the University.
William Mixon, a senior from Pike High School, was admitted to the College of Engineering's first-year engineering program, and Makenzie Bishop, a senior from Ben Davis High School, was admitted to the College of Liberal Arts for art education.
A video of the two surprises is here.
Starting Friday (Oct. 23) high school seniors who have completed their applications began to learn if they have been offered admission to Purdue for fall 2016. The University has moved up its admissions release date from December to October to help students with planning. Purdue offers rolling admissions, meaning that after students complete their applications, they can expect to receive an admission decision in eight to 12 weeks.
