The Purdue Alumni Association has named Tarri Brickler, Carolyn Johnson and Pam Mow recipients of the 2015 Special Boilermaker Award for their dedication to Purdue.

Tarri Brickler is the director of advising and schedule deputy for the School of Mechanical Engineering. In her over 40 years on campus, her nominators wrote, Brickler has helped thousands of students and dedicated her entire adult life in the service of students, faculty and staff.

The second recipient is Carolyn Johnson, director of the Diversity Resource Office. For over 30 years, her nominators wrote, Johnson has cultivated a university environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff and students as she empowers all to strive for cultural and academic success. She established the diversity round table and continues her commitment to equality with national and international involvements.

The third recipient is Pam Mow, administrative assistant to the head of the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology. She is the consummate professional and the heart and soul of her department, her nominators wrote. Mow also serves as president of the Gold Start Mothers state organization and locally has worked tirelessly marshaling support and providing leadership for the Lafayette honor flights. Those flights, to date, have taken nearly 500 veterans to Washington, D.C., as a tribute and "thank you" for their service to the country.

The Special Boilermaker Award was established in 1981 to recognize a member of the Purdue faculty or staff who has contributed significantly to the quality of life and/or the betterment of the educational experience for a substantial number of Purdue students.
