New resource for managers available from Human Resources

December 14, 2015

Leadership and Organizational Development announces its new initiative created to help managers be successful in leadership roles at the University, I-Excel.

Each month, Human Resources will offer one or more free managerial resources in Purdue Today. This month, managers are receiving access to "Coaching and Developing Employees," an online resource that will help them coach and develop direct reports. The two-minute course introduction is available online. Participants are asked to complete the full course, time permitting. In January, managers will receive additional resources to help support the career development of their direct reports.

Coaching and Developing Employees

What turns a manager into a leader? Business coach Lisa Gates leads this online course that teaches participants how to harness the power of coaching in the workplace to support and develop their team. By learning how to help employees identify and build their skills, managers will discover ways to transform them to be more productive and empowered. This course also offers several useful tools managers can use to build insight into their own coaching style and strengths. Participants will discover how beneficial (and simple) it is to take coaching outside of the annual review and into their daily work routine.
