The Class of 1939 Water Sculpture on Purdue Mall and the Purdue Bell Tower have been lit blue, white and red as a tribute to those who have been affected by last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris as well as terrorist attacks around the world. A student suggestion led to the lighting of the fountain and Bell Tower. They will remain lit during evening and nighttime hours for the next week.

Noah Gold, a junior in aeronautical and astronautical engineering, said, "It is my wish that this lighting shows Purdue's support of the Parisians, France, our French students at Purdue, as well as the international victims, and all those affected by these recent attacks. I personally was motivated to think of this lighting as I have friends that I consider family who live close to Paris, and want to support them in any way possible through these times. Therefore, I hope my fellow Boilermakers will join me in this lighting to support the victims, in France and elsewhere, and my friends, the Blanchet family."
