Emergency preparedness resources available online

December 14, 2015

Faculty and staff are reminded that information about Purdue emergency preparedness, including the Purdue Alert warning notification system, shelter in place procedures and building emergency plans, is available at https://www.purdue.edu/ehps/emergency_preparedness/.

Several other resources are available on the emergency preparedness website:

*  "Run, Hide, Fight," a video providing critical options for consideration to survive an active shooter event.

* "Shots Fired on Campus: When Lightning Strikes," a video providing active shooter awareness training.

* "Campus Safety with Purdue Pete," YouTube videos featuring pedestrian safety, property security, fire safety, Purdue's Safe Walk program and alcohol awareness among other safety areas.

* Extreme weather tips.

In addition to the resources on the emergency preparedness site, All-Hazards Awareness Training continues to be offered to the Purdue community through in-person sessions and online through the University’s Webcert website.

To register for the facilitated sessions held at the Purdue Police Department Conference Room (Terry Building), go to the Emergency Preparedness website. To take the All-Hazards Awareness Training online, go to the Webcert website and click "Campus Emergency Preparedness and Planning."

The one-hour All-Hazards Awareness Training sessions are designed to help people know how to react in potentially dangerous events that threaten campus safety.
